Hot Pink Barrel Horse in Nurtural Bitless Bridle
February 252010
Natasha is a semi-pro barrel racer in Alberta Canada. Scooter is a hot blooded paint who would never stop in a halter, hackamore or snaffle bit. She skeptically brought him to the Nurtural Bitless Challenge at the 2009 Calgary Stampede.
These challenges take place in 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes shows what this horse and rider can do in their regular bit and bridle. Then we switch them for the first time ever to a Nurtural Bitless Bridle. They have up to 5 minutes to practice, then must repeat everything they did in the bit. The audience scores bitted and bitless. You be the judge!

It’s intersting to …
It’s intersting to note that when he rides with the bit he brings his head up & you can see the muscles in the lower part of his neck engage. This is causing him to hollow out his back & fight the bit. But as soon as he wears the nurtural bridle, he starts to reach out & relax his body. He especially engages when she’s cnatering him. He even backs up much better and doesn’t jerk his head up. If she could learn to bring her hands down & help him relax even more then this will be an amazing team!
