Just use leather cleaner, conditioner, etc. there are some brands that have a three-step product. you use 1 to do something for it, 2 for another thing, 3 for another, get those. Use an old toothbrush and scrub like heck. you can also use your fingernail or a coin. Sorry to hear about your loss.
