Pretty much any bridle is "comfy" the only issues you would have is the bit being too big. If you horse chomps alot on the bit thats a sign that your horse isnt enjoying the bit choice –But then again some chewing is expected when he first takes it. If he CONTINUES to chew and bite while you are ridding then i would look into something new.. There are so many bits out there you have so many choices. Diffrent horses have diffrent needs.. Younger horses sometimes like little rollers on the bit so they can position them around their mouth. Normally i would just use a hackamore or a bozel..

I think you should just go for a simple english bridle, if you want the bridle to be versatile. Nosebands really aren’t necessary unless you’re in the show ring, or you need more control of your horse. I suggest just getting the noseband though since it doesn’t cost a whole lot more, and you can always take it off later.

I've got this crazy eventer bridle from greenrivertack.com (i think, if it doesn't work, try a google search for the tack store). it's a black bridle with yellow (yes, clearly yellow, like a gold shade) padding under the poll, noseband, and the sides of the bridle. it stands out and wouldn't work in a show ring (though you may be able to find it in black and white) but it is absolutely amazing. The padding makes it really comfortable for my mare, and the leather is so soft. And the price tag was amazing. I got it new for $17.50. I've used a lot of bridles, and this one is by far my favorite.

I would say to get an ordinary English bridle that fits him well. That’s the best thing that you can do because most bridles that are not comfortable for the horse are just not properly fitted, there’s nothing wrong with the bridle itself. (Keep it clean, too, that makes it less stiff.) Nosebands aren’t strictly necessary but definitely for showing English you need them, just like you definitely don’t need it for showing western. However, you can ride English just fine without one. (You can actually just take it off if it is bothering your horse.) I would just buy a simple snaffle bridle at the tack store and make sure that it fits and is adjusted correctly. Your horse should be fine!

fortunately, all bridles are adjustable. Its mostly up to you on what style and color you prefer. Courbette bridles are comfortable and fashionable, but of course they are about the most expensive bridle you can get. Crosby bridles are also popular and affordable. I recommend a Crosby
