Why do saddle seat bridles have polka-dotted brow bands?
February 62010
I’m starting saddle seat for the first time this year and a lot of the bridles I’ve seen have brow bands with white polka dots… Some of them are painted on (like the one my mom just got off of ebay) and some look like someone took a hole punch to it. I’m confused.
Here are different colors/styles that are allowed.

Tack regulations: The browband is commonly brightly colored leather or vinyl, red being the most common color. The cavesson is sometimes plain leather, and sometimes colored to match the browband, depending on breed and fashion trends in tack,

its just because they dont have any requirements saying that you have to have the tack in a specific way, its just decoration.
(dressage, you need black tack, saddleseat, you need the saddleseat saddle and bridle but you can do whatever you want with it thats the requirement, if i understand correctly)

It’s just the style… you don’t have to have them.
