The full should fit him just fine. They are pretty adjustable. My mare wears a cob and I can adjust it to fit a large TB cross (everything fits except the nose piece.) Oversize is more for warmbloods/drafts. My 17.1hh Clyde wears an oversize.
References :
Oversized is mainly for drafts. If he has a draft head on him (cross?) then I would say yes. I'm sure it is about the same sizing as all other english bridles. Regular horse size fits my large hanoverian and thoroughbred stallions just fine(which btw are much over 16.1hh... western headstalls ARE a different story lol.) If you do decide to get oversized and it turns out to be too big, all you have to do is punch more holes in it and it will be fine I'm sure.
References :
It looks like it should be good quality so it should fit your horse unless he's really big. Like 16.1h and bigger, then you might want the larger size. I have a 16.1h Quarter Horse and he can't use most standard sized western head stalls because there to small.
Hope this was helpful.

Whats up with the thumbs down?
Must be some loser's on tonight.
References :
Most Thoroughbreds will fit a Full size just fine. The last Thoroughbred I had actually used a cob, but his face was a little smaller than most. Oversize is more for draft horses or crosses. Call the company, with your horse's measurements, if you're not sure.
References :
oversized is more for draft horses so if you think his face is a stocky draft horse face then yes but if not then go for the regular sized horse bridle. also if you already have a bridle for him look it over and that may help you also take measurments of his face and call them up and speak to them about it they may be able to help!
References :
I would say full would be fine, as he is thoroughbred. Is there a return policy if it doesn't fit?
