How do you attach name plates to your horse tack?

March 72010

I purchased name plates (for my bridle, martingale, and saddle) and don’t know how to attach them to my tack. The saddle screws are different from the other two. I need any help I can get. I know that for the bridle and martingale I need to punch holes in the leather, but I don’t know much else. Please help!

The best advice that I can give you is ; take the plates plus your saddlery to your local saddler and ask him/her to do it for you. It wont cost much and you get a good job.

Well, first you need screws that will fit the name plate then you attach it as always. If you don’t know how, ask someone to show you.

Can you go back to the place you bought it?
If so ask them how you attach it. Or bring your tack to the shop and ask them to do it.

sometimes a place will attach them for you. But you must have a rivet gun other wise. They are usually at ached by rivets, so they are flat on either side.
