My Arab at 18 thinking it was so exciting he would forget to finish the actual jump and start jumping nothing. (I think this was back in 2005, just looking through the computer)
To all those curious I am pretty sure I got the neon orange polos at a local tack shop. I am sure if you Google you can find them online too.
I am riding in a halter with reins attached. There is no bit. I probably did not give enough when he flew awkwardly through the jump, but it was a halter. The leaping is his personality. Not me doing anything, he has acted this way since before I got him. He found jumping excitable, but it was not something we did often and certainly nothing we trained in. He was enjoying a playful semi-retirement at this point. Enjoy!

Oh my gosh Im so glad that my horse isn’t the only Arab who thinks it overly exciting! Haha he does the same thing. “lets go halfway over the jump n’ then step on the rest! woo!” he’s lovely! Gives me faith that my arab will be just as crazy about jumping wen he’s 18.

Wow lol hope you didn’t end up falling or anything. (Of course he wasn’t do anything extremely bad basically just taking off and doing some little bucks)
Hahaha I have sport boots that are orange but not that bright. Plus they are dirty. I prefer my green ones though.

Lol, my arab, when he doesn’t jump for a week or more, when i jump him he started bucking after each jump Lol. but he’s 4 and I don’t jump very often because he’s so young. Plus, I ride western and train more for barrels than hunter courses

well a lot of arabs have a clubbed foot makin ther jumping not as smooth as a sport horse or qh. and im not saying this becaus i hate arabs i love them and i hav one that i share with my sister! =)

Technically he is porpoising, not bucking. (or half) The name of the video is funny jump because he attempted to jump it. He gets excited about making a jump and this time celebrated a little too soon. Is there a need to analyse that much?

He was pretty much retired at this point and we just rode for fun to keep him exercised and his brain active. I have had him long enough and knew him well enough he went well and was happy in just a halter. A bit should not be used as a main source of control as is, the seat and body should, which he understands. He just gets excited when he makes a jump, sometimes a little prematurely.
