A good way to clean my Wintec Saddle?
January 302010
Hey, I just recently Bought a Wintec 500 All-purpose Saddle as my old leather saddle went out of shape and no longer fits my horse.
I am so used to using leather conditioner on my old saddle to clean it, and now that I have a synthetic saddle, I am not quite sure what would be the best way to give it a bit of a brush up… any suggestions??
On my wintec I just take a horse brush and brush it around the skirt and the fender. My "jockey" had leather in it so I used the leather conditioner. It cleaned up nice enough. As far as the seat goes I just wiped it off with a dry cloth.

I ride dressage and all my friends and i ride in Wintec Isabelles. Simply vacuum it! It brings them out great. Or go to the saddle shop and buy synthetic saddle cleaner. It’s around 20$ a bottle.

after i ride i usually just give it a good brush down with one of my horse brushes. it comes up lookin great! although if you go riding in the sea, i just wash it with water and a bit of soap. no expensive saddle cleaners needed! it still comes up lookin perfect!

I just use a sponge, soap and water. Its not leather so the soap won’t harm it.

Some people use a slightly damp cloth or flanel.
However you can get synthetic saddle cleaner spray now which is good. Yep.
However it is posible to get a saddler to re stuff leather saddles. I dont know if this would have helped you or not?

I use a softer brush. Then just brush it off.

Hose it down and let it dry in the sun (do remove the stirrups leathers and irons first!)
Then brass or silver polish to the finishings! You can also touch it up with a damp lint free towel.

wet rag. I used to work at calabassas saddlery and the reps for wintec told us you can literally hose them off
