Is Wintec saddles a good brand?
I’m getting a new saddle(old one from my lease horse doesnt fit my own horse). And im thinking of getting the Wintec 500 w/ CAIR. I’ve read reviews saying its a awesome saddle. But i need more info. Or i might get the western one instead. Im not sure yet.
I have ridden in wintec saddles before and I think they are okay. But I personally like the leather saddles. I think it’s great that wintecs have the changeable gullet system, though that can sometimes lead to a weak structure. They are great for a beginner, since they are so cheap for an english saddle. Though I would not get them.
Just depends on your personally style and comfort of a saddle. If you like snythetic english saddles, go for the wintec. But, if you have ridden in a leather english or western saddle, just compare the comfort of each saddle.
Good luck finding a new saddle!
i really like them as saddles, i love the changeable gullet system. i don’t like the cair though. it’s too much hard work to be honest. i prefer a flock saddle. but that’s a personal preference.
i find wintecs realy nice to ride in, very comfy.

I would definitely go with a wintec saddle.

I had (well, still have) an old Wintec 500 AP. It was nice until I could afford separate (higher quality) saddles. What I liked about it was that: you don’t have to worry about it getting wet, it’s lightweight, somewhat adjustable, and easy to clean. Another thing that’s nice about it, is that it will work with horses who have a bigger wither (Thoroughbreds, for example).
If you can’t spend a lot of money, I’d definitely get a Wintec as they’re much better quality than "cheaper" leather saddles.

I like the Wintec saddles so much! I’ve ridden in the western and english ones and they are both really great! I love the interchangeable gullet system and they are pretty comfortable! I like the synthetic saddles because you can do cross country or get it wet and it doesnt hurt it! And they’re really easy to clean!
Good luck, I hope youfind the right saddle!

I have a wintec saddle right now, and have had it for 2-3 years. It still looks great, fits many different horses, and is comfy. but sadly i have to sell it cause i need a close contact leather saddle! I have a Wintec 2000. My friend has a Wintec 500 and likes it, but sometimes it squeaks, so watch out. They are very durable, and can get wet and not be damaged. Sometimes the synthetic material is slippery, my friend had that problem, but I didn’t because the 2000 has suede. Its a very good beginner saddle, my old trainer had all her student get one when they got a saddle!

I’ve had a Wintec with CAIR for a few years now. I like its easy upkeep, the ability to change the gullet to fit my horse, and the comfort. You can get a better saddle, but you’ll have to pay more. I think it’s great for the price.

Wintecs are a good quality, long-wearing saddle, and the changeable gullet system and CAIR panels can be helpful when it comes to fitting issues. They require no major cleaning or care as a leather saddle will, they wear well and hold their value well. Keep in mind just a few caveats, however:
1) The trees in the Wintec saddles are pretty flat, and work best for a horse with a low to moderate wither. The aren’t usually the best choice for the real steeple-withered horses (or the really w-i-d-e horses).
2) The CAIR panels become rock hard in high elevations.
3) The CAIR panels don’t breathe, so are not a good choice for really hot climates.
If your horse is hard-to-fit, you might be better off going with a Thorowgood saddle – around the same price, but with more fitting options. Work with a good saddle fitter and see what they’d recommend.

wintecs are awesome saddles!!
i have had a wintec 15" western saddle for about a year and half and love it.
i just got the english wintec 500 all purpose with cair. haven’t gotten to ride it in yet, b/c i dont have a girth or stirrup fillers…but it looks very comfortable. i love the versatality of how it looks. it certainly combines every discipline into one saddle.
hope this helps, and good luck!
